Looks great SoCal! Do you get a lot of decel pop tho?
Thanks Slim 12. Diggin that Slim of yours too.
Hey, funny thing you should ask on decel pop. I was getting it lot more than I wanted. So last weekend I put new muffler clamps on the slip ons. I had been using the original clamps, which may have got a little warped in the change from stock. I tightened to 63 foot pounds on my torque wrench. I also repacked the quiet baffles. I had taken some insulation out to get the baffles in because it's a tight fit. But I figured out a way to pack the baffles better. Now just a little decel pop. Not much. Bike seems to run better too. |
Hmm i might just start with the clamps. I reused the old ones too but had to fight to get them on and not positive that they made a good seal. Did you use v&h clamps?
I just picked up new Harley clamps and went for it. Worked like a charm. Good luck!
Slims, Did you guys just put the Slip-ons on without tuning?
As long as you don't change the pipes , no tuning needed.
FattBoyrider is correct, no tuning needed when just changing slip ons.
