LED headlamp....worth the $?

I really dig the looks of the LED HD headlamp for my slim but the money is crazy. Is the lighting that much better? I dont mind spending the money if it is super bright but cant justify it for looks.

Can't put a price on safety...especially with all the "distracted" cages out there on the road w/electronics @ hand. One cheaper LED solution is the TruckLite-7...

Incandescent lights cannot compare to that of the LEDs. It's like night and day (no pun intended :icon_lol:) .

There are brands of LED lights that are less expensive than HDs . Iceman gave you one. You can also look into HID lighting. It is far less expensive than LED lights and generates light comparable to LED. There are many posts comparing HID lighting to LED lighting. You would have to form your own opinion which is better.

IMO, for day and night visibility, LED is superior and worth the expense.

I have the HD LED headlight and its really bright. My wife rides a can am spider which has 8 lights on the front of it and my 1 headlight is brighter then hers when she has her highs on.

Pull the trigger and do it! Unbelievable difference... I'm in the Midwest and ride on the country roads with lots of deer out at night. For me, being able to spot the damn things much sooner is worth the price of admission.

Without a doubt the LED is the way to go. I couldn't believe the difference at night on the highway.

I was very hesitant about getting the daymaker light from HD but its awesome! Makes a huge difference over the stock lamp!

I agree it is a hard expense to justify, but once you experience the difference you'll see it was worth it. At least it was for me, I installed both the headlamp and aux lamps and it amazing!

I'm going to wait for the next gen. IMO--It is a good light but for the price and minimal difference over other HIDs it's not quite there yet.

It is hard to justify the price but I am glad I got the LED. It's much brighter than the standard light. I went LED all the way, tail and brake, headlight and turn signals and am glad I did. In theory I should never have to replace any of them. The few times I forgot to turn off the main switch I was glad the LED uses far less power or I may have had a down battery.
