Hey guys. This is my first thread and picked up my first bike (2012 Fatboy Lo) last Friday. To say the least, I am pretty exited for this summer. I have to ask you, what is/are some good cleaning products for the denim black and black wrinkle finishes? what should I NOT use to clean it as well, so I can be sure to stay away from them as well. I don't want to ruin the paint using something that I shouldn't.
Windex is the way to go. I go to Sams Club and get a gallon bottle of it, I mix it with water in a bucket for heavy cleaning, or just spray it on for touch ups. Do not use any soap, or anything with any oils or waxes in it, otherwise you will have a perma shine paint job. Windex or nothing as far as I'm concerned
But why not wax once in a while?
After all, it is paint with clearcoat...
I asked the guy who did my powdercoat and he recommended Eagle One NanoWax.
After some searching I finally found it at Pep Boys, and I gotta tell you, this is great stuff.
It covers any small scratches and actually adds a little shine to the denim.
It works even better on the gloss black parts.
Just don't rub it a lot. Where my jeans/chaps bend at my knee, it's rubbed a small shiny spot on the right side of my tank. I never knew my leg was that close to it.
