Maybe because I turned 50, or perhaps because I just want some tunes on the road, I ordered a fairing from Reckless for my 98 FB. Reckless says to use the OEM windshield mounts, but am wondering if one brand is a high quality than another. From what I've found my options are the Kury Airmaster Quick Release and the National Cycle Switchblade. I'm thinking I need the brackets in addition to just longer bolts, spacers and grommets.
I put in Memphis shades batwing on my past bike, a RKC and now on my Softail classic.
I like their mounts because it's a quick detach and has adjustability fore and aft.
Once mounted and you need to adjust the batwing, all you have to do is adjust the allen screws on the side and move the batwing to the position you like.
The HD oem W/S mounts does not have this feature. The only thing is, I'm not sure if the Memphis shades mounts will fit the Reckless batwing? Maybe you can ask Reckless?
The MS mounts are about $140 and comes with either polished or black brackets. Be careful when ordering, as they make the ones for "with" or "without light bar"
Worth taking a look into imho

Reason: pics
All you will need is the longer windshield bolts. The fairing comes with brackets, but they aren't really quick connect, you have to loosen the four bolts.

Kozy, I really like your bike with the batwing and no bags.
I'm running mine with the MS batwing and just a swing arm bag for now, as I like the clean look
Which batwing r u running?

Kozy has the Reckless, which is one of the reasons I went that route. It's a really nice set up. I know he has some issues with customer service, which did come into my consideration, but I am hoping it was an isolated instance. I shall see.
Please let us know what your find from Reckless as I was interested in their fairings. Seems weird that they don't have their own mount but that Memphis mount looks pretty scookum with the adjustment for angle. I was riding a 93 FLHS I'd just bought last week and it had an adjustable windshield. Found the bolts weren't very tight as I hit 95 all the sudden windshield was coming at me. I't didn't come off or anything just stopped at the end of the adjustment but sure caught my attention pretty quick.
