Default Medallion Gauge on 96 Evo / anyone got this gauge period

Anyone seen these? I like the idea of having the added features but I can't see how my bike is gonna communicate with the new gauge and tell me what gear I'm in and what not. Says it fits my bike (not plug in play unfortunately) I see the speedo and tach working but I don't want the other features just sitting there exposed and not working... I'm OCD haha. Really I just wanna replace mine because of the condensation over the last 17 years caused the backing to warp slightly and I know there are much cheaper options like replacing just the background. Just exploring the options. Heres a link to the one I want.

It uses the speed sensor and tach to figure gear selection. I installed a new fancy speedo and now I can see what gear im in. Not that handy of a function but it there.

That was my only guess as how gear selection was displayed. And yeah I can't see it being to useful haha. I know theres no way it could tell the fuel level so hopefully stuff like that isn't always displayed. Do you have this brand or one similar? Heck I do t even have a clock on mine and that would be pretty handy.

The harley one doesn't work for my bike from what I remember. However I did fi d out all the info I needed by reading the instalation instructions online. You'd think they post how all the functions work on the website in plain view. But thanks for the info.
