Don't get hung up on avoiding lengthening your cables/wires or you are going to end up doing your mod twice.
Measure the length of your bars. Use a string from the center of your riser and run it along your bar out to the end. Each side will obviously be the same. Do the same for the bars that you would like to have.
Depending on your bike you probably can afford 3 to 5 inches at the most.
Adding length is no big deal .
Did you consider just changing the risers? Around 3 inches up will also give you an inch of pullback. You can also get pullback risers. ... risers probably won't require lengthening any of your cables or wires.

I had NO idea I’d gain pullback with risers.
A blindfolded test proved a tad of height & pullback would be optimal comfort.
The HD OEM and DS are my slim options!
I agree with you to do it right the first time instead of doing it twice.
Anyway to get a “few more inches)

This is my own personal experience on my 2014 softail slim. I bought the Todd's cycle 10 inch handlebar and installed it with NO need to change any cables. All stock cables were re-used. Mind you, you must buy the 1 1/4 bars because they step down to 1 inch in the clamping area thus allowing you to use the stock riser. If you really want the thicker 1 1/2 inch ones then be prepared to pay more money for a replacement riser (these DO NOT step down at the clamping area). I am 5'7" and the reach and pullback is fine. I am sure I could've gone with the 12 inch bars and still be comfortable but in that case the cables would've been really close. I own the Harley 2 inch risers so may give it a shot and see if I can get that added height without needing to change cables. Anyone 5'6" or taller will be comfortable with these bars. Really no difference in reach compared to stock Hollywood bars. I would even say sitting upright compared to leaning forward is more comfortable. Hope this helps.

Appreciate the reply, and absolutely agree that sitting more upright, less forward is more comfortable. Leaning in to the Hollywood’s irritates my shoulder (spur) and wrists. The 1 1/4” work for me as long as there black.
How long did it take you to swap out the bars?
Great info here guys, appreciate it!

I tried that with a green scotch brite pad but nothing happened
Had to resort to usinnd steele wool in the 00.00 varierty
that did the trick for me

I have had the best luck with a red scotch brite pads, some wd-40, and a few beers. The longer you take and more oil you use the better the
results. Here's a pic of the engine bay in my 55 Bel-Air which I did the same thing. I sanded / grinded smoothed the parts. Had professionally polished. Then scotch brited till I had a consistent brushed look. Some windex and elbow grease every few weeks and the finish looks great !
