Default What are some problems with Samson true duels

I have a 2013 Softail Deluxe and love the old school look of the true duels with fishtails. I have read a lot about how great they look (granted), but how do they perform? Are the true terds or is there any significant loos of power? Please help before I buy them.

I just put some on a couple days ago...been raining...I will be able to ride this weekend and get an idea of what the feel like if you can wait that long.

so far only down side is the left side pipe install is a B...H...it's really close fitting....takes a little smudging to get it where it's not rubbing anywhere.

As you can see I made a few changes..the seat has been recovered and tank badges changed out.

A slight loss of power, but not worried about it because I just cruise. The sound is wild!

I did have a problem removing one of my baffles. The metal tab inside ended up bending and put a dent from the inside out. Pretty bummed that happened, but happy Samson is doing a warranty exchange. Great customer service.

I have a modified high compression motor built for performance and I just put these on about a month ago coming from a Python 2 into 1 header. I won't lie, I did lose a tad or horsepower and torque but not enough to discourage anyone from using them. I also expect it to get a little better after I dyno it. Like the one guy said, it's a Harley, I'm an Old man now and I just cruise. I also have the est with the removable baffles and tips but I am leaving them too until I put it on the Dyno, then the baffles will be cut down for an optimum tune. Good luck and keep us posted on your decision.

A superb choice!

I went with unbaffled, and after a dyno tune I finished up with more horses in my hand.

Go for it!

Love the Samsons! They look great and sound even better.

In general, you either want performance (2 in 1's) or you want looks and sound (true duals). As tbonetony06 and dylan199 noted, you will take a slight performance hit with true duals but usually not enough to notice.

Nothing screams old school like Samson true dual fishtails. Go for them!
