Is the 259E cam too much for a 96 ci?
A buddy of mine has a set of SE 259E cams that are lightly used that I can get for a good price. My '11 FXS has stage 1 done on it. Stock 96. Would these cams be too much for the stock heads? Would pistons and/or valve springs need to be upgraded. I would like to upgrade to a hot 103 setup in the future.

i can personally attest to the crank not taking it, i went from 203's to 211's and right now my motor is being rebuilt with darkhorse fixing the crank the way it should have be done to begin with.
i will make ya a sweet deal on my old 203's. nothing wrong with them just went a tad wilder. 25.00 and freight and they are yours

Yes, they need higher comp pistons and head work to shine

Yes.

It'd be best to wait and do all Ur work at the same time.

U have to build a motor with parts that work together, Just putting in a Cam TOO big without all the other work will produce a motor they runs and performs badly....
