Default 2002 FXST or 2007 FXSTC to purchase...???

If you had to choose, which one would you go with.? Based on this criteria. I plan to keep this bike long term, the 2002 has 13k miles, has service history, is local to me, hasa carb, the bikeis modified right(the way i like it), i will not log too many miles (approx. 600 per year), no warranty, cash issort of tight andi would save approx. $8,000. overall (loan difference).... Just trying to rationalize.... Thank's

Guess everyone would go for the newer one if it was finacially better..I could have got a new one but went with an '02 with 1000 miles on it and dont regret it one bit..got a more or less mechanically new bike and saved a ton..got payments that r comfortable for me (even if the bike is sitting for winter).even paid 12 payments ahead on it..the carb makes it spit and pop when cold a little..I just take a couple minutes to warm it up and its good to go ..Im very happy with the savings and the bike..I hate killer payments..they take the fun out of it all.

If that is all the miles you plan on riding a year then the 2002 would most likely fit the bill. The 2007 have the larger engine (96) and a 6 speed tany but is that worth another 8,000 to you.

Hell I will play Devil's Advocate and say buy new unless it would hurt you with other bill's , I know it's harley and you say will not ride more than 600 mile's but the harley thrill could take you on longer ride's, and 13,000 mile's right at 6year's old, then when you may trade or sell you would be second owner and value MAY plummit so could be dicey, but even if you could hold out few month's 08's should be in, and improved, fuel injection, brand new, you could put 13,000 mile's on your new warrenty 07 or 08 bike, but if it will hurt you and wife and kid's, I do not know if you have family yet. But if it hurt's you in pocket go for 02, but if can swing it get new!!!, you only have one life to live go for the gold, but do not live in cardboard box either, your call so good luck with what ever you choose!!!!!!!!

Well... thanks for all the advice. I chose the 02'. It's in the garage. I do have kids and a wife that were a number one factor. Enough bills already. Lucky to have it. Seller was very good guy, local, etc. I really wont ride too much... then in a few years, re-evaluate. Only thing missing is the wide rear tire = ok by me... i like the classic lace look... Hopefully she'll run strong. 13k miles now... Thanks again
