I just did this swap on my '04 FXSTI...I had been running those POS 58mm inverted fat ultimas until they started busting seals on the regular. and I wanted to go and make mine a bagger/so cal looking bastardization.
I found a complete '99 FB front end with headlight...used my 2000-up brake caliper with the adapter I had from Demon's cycle (yeah I know). Only problems I ran into were spacing front wheel center..so I used stacks of washers until I got it centered. Front fender looks off but that's cuz I reused it after I laid her down a few yrs ago. Looking to put on heritage/deluxe fender when I change the wheels. Other than that she tracks straight and true...

Got any pics? What size tire you have on there now? Are you still using the washers as spacers?

Sorry just caught this thread again...yes I am using the washers still. But I am having spacers machined and will worry about them when I change the wheels on next tire change( I bought tires just before I did the front end swap). the bike tracks straight no problems with wheel being centered. For now I am running a 21" x 2.15...when I change wheels and fender out I will go up to 21"x3.50...which I think is a 120/70.

Just finished a Fatboy front end swap on my 06 FXSTi. I'm runninga fatboy 16" front wheel and tire. Here is what I found. Purchased Fatboysliders, upper and lower triple trees, tins, a Headwinds 150Za Headlight Mount, stock 06 left front wheel spacers (the right was same part number as my stockFXSTi), a Motorway Engineering Co 16" Front Fender For 41mm FLST Stylelegs and a Softail Service manual. I used progressive's 2 inch drop kit tocompensate for my upper fork tubes being 2 inches longer. Pretty straight forward swap. Only issue Ihave at this moment is my front steering is not tracking centered. Handlebarsare turned slightly right to run straight. I either have the forks in a bind orthe rear and front need to be aligned to each other due to an bigger offsetused on Fatboys vs FXSTi’s. Any thoughts from the members on this?

Default just update

I finally got my new wheels and had my shop fabricate new spacers, instead of the washers ,when they installed wheels. I am running a 21x3 up front and the stock 16 out back. Just got the SS installed, but need to get some pics of bike slammed and such.

I know I am bringing an old thread alive, I am currently in the middle of a near identical build and need advice... Any of you mind helping out, or should I move this to another thread or create a new one?
