Wiring Headlights so that Highs and Low are both on

My dad has a 2005 Heritage Softail CLassic and he wants to wire his lights up so that when he switches his highbeams on his lowbeams stay on as well. Any info??? He dont want to shell out the 100 at HD.

RE: Wiring Headlights so that Highs and Low are both on

You could do this the simpliest way by running a wire from your ignition switch to the low beam that would keep that on all the time the bike is on, and then the high beam would come on when you switched the lo/hi switch. It would be advisable to use a relay so the additional draw of the low beam doesn't over load the ignition switch. Another thing here to consider is the extra heat generated by both filaments being on ,and the additional draw on the electrical system when running both on. Maybe only to be used at road speed would minimize the load and heat.

Here's the relay wiring that you will need. If you can't figure it out, post and say so and I will tell you how.
