Heritage tour pak mount
Has anyone mounted a 53066-00c tour pak mount on a pre-1996 harley heritage classic? I want to install a tour pak on my bike but no one can seem to give any information on mounting one using the harley tour pak rack. The harley site lists it fitting 2000 to 2014 models. Has anyone any info on what would fit a 1993 heritage?

I think this is your third attempt for an answer on this subject and I imagine you're getting frustrated because no one is providing an answer.
Well this forum has great members so if nobody's providing an answer, chances are members just don't have an answer.
Perhaps your question should be "I've got a 1993 Heritage that I want to mount a tour pak to. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can accomplish this"
I don't have an answer for your original question about the 53066-00C, but perhaps I can possibly provide you with an answer to my question.
I bought a used leather tour pak with studs that was mounted on a 1998 Heritage.
I wasn't in the market for a tour pak at the time, but for $175 I just couldn't pass up on the deal.
My thought was to purchase a 53066-00C mount seeing that what came with the tour pak was actually a luggage rack from the 1998 Heritage that had the tour pak mounted on it.
I didn't think this luggage rack would fit my 2009 Heritage.
To my surprise the luggage rack from the 1998 Heritage mounted directly to my 2009 Heritage.
So I mounted the luggage rack to my 09 Heritage, had my Wife sit comfortable on the bike while I positioned the tour pak on the rack. I then drilled through the tour pak into the luggage rack four mounting holes and then bolted the tour pak to the luggage rack.
My setup is not quickly "detachable", but it only takes a half hour or so to take it on or off.
And since the setup mounted to my 09 Heritage, I was able to get a leather studded tour pak with mount for only $175, not a bad deal.
I still am searching for a used 53066-00C because I would like to be able to quickly "detach" it, but for $225 for a new one, I will keep what I got and take 30 minutes or so to take it on or off. Also I generally like the tour pak on all the time anyway.
I also added a lid organizer to the tour pak which is great for storing glasses and little crap. Hell I even have a compact umbrella stored in the lid organizer.
Also, I can easily fit a case of beer in the tour pak and have room for a couple bags of chips as well.
So, my recommendation is unless you've already purchased a 53066-00C, I'd search for a rack similar to the one that I have.
I would think if it mounted to a 2009 and a 1998 Heritage, it would also mount to a 1993 Heritage.
There's one of these luggage racks like mine on e-bay right now.

If you go to "my garage" you can see a few pics of my tour pak setup.
Good luck on your quest for a solution.

Some times we just have to engineer what we need. BR give U sound advice about we don't have all the answers all the time. just most of the answers most of the time.
We used to say at work, with enough money and time We'll make it work.
Good luck with the mod
Ooh, When U finally get it figured out.
Don't forget to come back and post what U used and how U did it so U can HELP others that want do the same.
Pictures would really help to if U can.

Sounds like some of our GMI Engineers we used to get right out of School that Mgt would put as Foremen down on our shop floor.
Some was OK and listen to us, but some was bound to save the Company their first week on the job.

Ive made my own quick disconnect brackets for both of my bikes. I started with installing the stock HD disconnect brackets in the fender struts, then used 1/8th" steel plate and make my own brackets. You can buy at the dealer stock j-hooks that lock onto the rear fender strut quick disconnect bracket. Once you have made the lower 1/8" plates you can weld on any motorcycle rack. On my 04 sportster I'm using a 86 suzuki rack with a mid 70's vespa fiberglass bag. On the heritage I'm using a 97 springer rear rack with a early 70's bates fiberglass bag.
