LICENSE PLATE RELOCATED

I relocated my license plate to the rear of my Softail Slim. Never really cared for the side mount. Used the factory aftermarket kit.
Pretty easy straight forward install. However, what is not mentioned is that once you remove the left turn/brake signal, and liberate the plate from the stalk, it is about 1/2" shorter.
Luckily, my dealer had a right side stalk in inventory. You simply turn it over and use it on the left side.
Also the new kit has a red reflector above the license plate light. Really ugly. So I cut it off (plastic) and sanded it smooth.

I think I am finished now!!

Gave her a bath after completing my drive belt/baker adjuster install and 3 hole fluid change and took her out for a blast with the break in weather, put about a 100 miles on her to shake her down . seems great so far. nothing like the feeling of a big job completed on your own!!

Default Wash, wax and...!

I washed, waxed, attempted to start it, no such luck. I thought, “That’s strange. I went for a ride last weekend and it started with no issues.”

Removed the seat, the negative terminal melted! What the???

Any way, rolled it back into the garage, removed the battery and will deal with it later this week.

Be safe everyone.

Got some apes installed finally. Bought them through a friend and believe them to be 14" wild 1 chubbys. Went with the magnum black pearl cables and glad I did. Went ahead and put on new black levers and Avon contour grips, replaced rubber bushings for poly, and wrapped all my wires with wire loom for a super clean look.

Had a pin pull out a molex connector and caused me a bunch of electrical codes to be thrown, must have broke the connector pulling through the bars. New one is on it's way so I can ride next weekend.

Loose Connection, see symptoms like that here at work often enough. We take temp readings to stay ahead of it. All my work is going on over my head haha on the ceiling. I work for a semiconductor company and work on the robotics system.

See above^^^^ check and clean cables often, the constant vibration does cause the battery bolts to back out, been there also.

A loose connection would my first thought.

My memory gets hazy at times but I think I worked on the White Oak project when it was built.
