Xied's

I have an 08 Fatboy with the K&N high flow air filter, the ECM reflash, and Rush slip ons. I have no plans to do any more upgrades to my motor. Do the Xied's perform as advertised? Do they make the engine run cooler as claimed? Any opinions would be appreciated.

Personally I would have chosen xied's over the hd reflash. I added xied's the same time I added a ac and the bike ran better than ever. Lowering your afr does make your bike run cooler

Here's an old review I wrote up, but I went with the adjustable ViED's:

I left those on for a year and have since moved on to a V&H FuelPak 3...
The ViED's lowered my oil temps about 20°, the FP3 took it down 30° more...

If you use the search function, there are thousands of posts on this subject. I have installed them on my 2005, 2007 and 2011 TC. They work as advertised. Go to knightrider.com for many details on them. Can be ordered on Amazon, eBay or from kinightrider

I have the same setup as you on my Heritage. I ran the vied's for the last few years and they did quite well. Yes they will cool the engine so it doesn't BBQ your leg but I still had issues in the summer with the wind deflectors installed. I would end up removing them each summer.

I recently decided to try the superchip's flash to see if it would cool it down so I could keep the wind deflectors on, but right now the jury is still out since they have only provided a temp file for this setup.

I ran Xieds for 3 1/2 yrs. They did cool down the temps about 20o and the bike ran some better. I last week installed a PV-1 and am glad I did. The bike just runs better and even more cooler than with the Xieds. Try them they are low cost and will get the job done until you want something more.

I still have my ViED's if you're interested in saving some $$...
