Default Slim Rocker Cover removal

Going to change out the top rocker covers on my slim. this is simply unbolt change gasket and rebolt the new one on, correct?

the service manual shows some additional steps, but it looks like that is for a breakdown.

unbolt and move tank
unbolt rocker covers and remove
remove gasket
replace gasket
reinstal rocker covers

?

You may need one of these if you want to torque it properly:
Several of the the bolts on the left side are impossible to get to with just a regular socket or torque wrench...

..and here's a handy Torque Wrench Adapter Calculator.
I think on mine, by adding a 2" adapter, it dropped the torque value from 15 to something like 13 ft. lbs.

I just did the swap last weekend. I did unbolt the tank and lifted it to gain more access to the bolts. Actually stuck a couple scrap pieces of 2x4 under the tank to hold it up... the last thing I wanted to do was cut/replace the fuel crossover.

And like always... be sure to follow jam's advice!
