I had a Sportster 1200 Custom for 5 years so..,

The XR 1200 felt quicker, lighter and easier to maneuver. I popped a couple wheelies on it. The one I rode was stock. I imagine upgrading the exhaust and stage 1 would make it even better. I liked it a lot but I like my Fatboy a lot better.

I assume you mean a XL1200.I own one and it is wicked fast as it is my drag bike. I am 6'1 and the bike doesn't fit me at all. I drive it vary little as it is not comfortable at all. Now my son who is 5'8 loves his sporty.

I test road an xr1200. What a great bike! Not really a sporty at all! Lots of fun but I decided I've outgrown the need for a "crotch rocket" type bike, even if it is a Harley! Lol

A friend of mine had an XR1200 for a short time that I rode. With a little exhaust, intake, and cam work I think they would really be fun bikes.

I had one for about six months when I wanted something smaller and easy to get around town on. Its a great, fun bike but I had to get rid of it. I ended up with more traffic fines on that thing in six months than I have in 20 years on my other bikes!

i think an xr would be a blast. if a dealer anywhere remotely near me had one in stock i'd take it for a test ride... and probably like it
