Default Idle question for carburetor guys

My 06 NT all of a sudden started giving me issues of stalling out at a stop after it had gotten hot. Would idle just fine when engine was cold, but when it warmed up after about 30 minutes of riding and I came to a stop it would start dropping in the idle and want to stall unless I gave it some gas. So I pulled the carburetor and rebuilt/cleaned it and made sure I had no gasket leaks (vacuum port is sealed off with no leaks as I'm using a gravity fed petcock). Put it back in and it's still doing the same thing.

I noted that I was somewhere around the 800 rpm range when idling (my tach does not show increments so I have to guess) and I adjusted my idle screw in about a quarter turn to increase idle speed to about 900 rpm. It sounds a lot better, less random galloping to it more of a steady gallop, but I have not had a chance to test it out on the road yet. What I did notice now is that before with my enricher **** pulled out all the way I was idling at 1200 rpm during warmup and now with that minor adjustment I am idling at 1500-1700 rpm with **** all the way out. I cannot find any information stating if this seems accurate or too high? From what I'm used to it sounds way high lol, what does your engine do?

I pulled my spark plugs also and did not find them to look lean or rich so I don't believe I have a fuel/air ratio problem or that my mixture screw needs to be adjusted. It was rejetted years ago and the screw is backed out 2.25 turns and that's where I leave it. My air filter is clean, got new gas in it, ran seafoam through it prior to rebuilding the carb, and I've got good gas supply to the bowl so I'm pretty sure the idle screw just got backed out from vibration over a few years and is now causing an issue. I just want to be sure my RPM's sound right before I leave in a few weeks to go ride the dragon. Don't need to be trying to figure this out on the side of the road in the mountains lol.

Thanks!

did you by chance replace the float when you rebuilt the carb? any excess fuel leaking from carb into A/C?

Did not replace the float but did replace the float needle. No excess fuel anywhere. No coughing from the carb and no black smoke from the pipes.

Yea I understand all of that but what I'm asking is what are your idle RPM's at idle warm and idle with enricher **** full out.

The proper idle speed for Twin Cam's is 1,000 rpm's.

There is no idle specifications, or adjustment for when the choke is pulled out. If I had to guess, 1,200 to 1,400 rpm's, choke fully extended would seem correct. 1,700 is very excessive.
