Honestly I kinda dig the location of the front signals, maybe upgrade to an LED option, I would do something with the rear signals first, look into an integrated brake / signal option.

Hey Joey, welcome to the HD forum, check out these blinker/signals. (click and the pic will get bigger) Very inexpensive, easy to mount and BRIGHT. I can help you with them if you should decide.

I already posted part numbers to do this in the breakout thread.

Instrument gauge - 70900651 - $172.82 Surdyke
6 pin plug - 69201162 - $6.04 Harley
Terminal socket x5 - 69200307 - $2.55 Harley
Screw x4 - 8679 - $10.24 Harley
Screw x4 - 10200616 - $4.84 Harley
Top Clamp - 55900105 - $40.10 Surdyke
Risers - 55900102 - $124.82 Surdyke

Total $361.41 for this project. Harley dealer prices may vary depending on your dealer.

The bars have a different part number. You'll have to drill a hole in the top of the bar as the speedo harness runs straight through the middle of the bar. Plug at the harness is 6 pin on both generations. Plug at the speedo is 12 pin on the 1st generation and 6 pin on the 2nd generation. Both speedo plugs are only utilizing 5 wires. You'll just have to make your own 5 wire harness with a 6 pin plug on each side to connect it. Both bikes are BCM which means the speedo does not need any calibration to work. Once you make your harness it IS plug and play.

Hope this helps.

The more I look at the stock set up the more I like it, I was thinking about installing my Custom Dynamics led wrap around fork strips, but now I wanna just install the Custom Dynamics led replacement lights that go in the stock housing. Same with the back. But before I do all that I'm saving for the Freedom Performance Combat 2 into 1 exhaust.

Cool, thanks. Couldn't you just use the new 6 pin to 6 pin cable? I get that you might have to re-arrange the pins.

The only reason I suggest making a new harness is due to the indicator lights. On the first gen harness, the indicator lights are wired alongside the speedo wires. The second gen harness is strictly just the 5 wires (the indicators are wired as a unit with the speedo). The factory second gen harness MAY work... However, I am not sure if the length would be correct. You can certainly cut out the indicator light wires and cap them with some shrink tube, then repin the new connector for the speedo. I just prefer the cleanliness of a new SPECIFIC application harness.

gen1 harness

gen2 harness

If you are interested in trying the new harness
69201610 - $11.87 Surdyke (the cost is worth the chance it may work)

One last note... Thunderbike is working on a shorter riser for this digital speedo also (along with a bunch of other parts of course lol)

Got to do the rear fender and seat.
Thanks all for posting.
