Default Red Beret Riders go USA

Planning a bike trip for my Red Beret Riders Association from the Netherlands Europe.
Red Beret Riders' members are veterans who are serving or have served in the Netherlands 11 Airmobile Air Assault Brigade deployed in Mission Areas like Afghanistan, Iraq, Africa, Bosnia, Kosovo etc. Dutch airmobile army soldiers conduct joint exercises in helicopter operations with the US 82nd Airborne Division on a regular base.
Our plan is to ship our bikes by boat from the Netherlands to New York in June 2019 and fly in from Amsterdam to New York.
We're looking into a ride heading SW over BRP towards TOD (see map).
Looking for info to visit/ride interesting sites/roads like Arlington Memorial, Historic Civil War sites etc.
Also surching for veteran friendly accomodations in that area.
Please advise? Your help is much appreciated and who knows we could arrange a meet!
Thanks, René

I rode that area with my brother a few years ago, there's plenty to see and do along the way, here's a good site that will give you all kinds of things to see; https://roadtrippers.com/ Give this a starting and stopping point, select items for "show me" and there will be more than enough sites to see. Here's a link starting in Gettysburg going to the TOD with everything selected; https://roadtrippers.com/map?a2=p!vp...!11,t!19316720

Most places along that route will be veteran friendly, although I can't say if they will give you any discounts like they would a US veteran. If you can start farther north I would recommend going to Gettysburg, PA (civil war battle field) about 30 miles or so from the HD plant. Then hitting the Harley plant for a tour and you can follow 81 down to your route.

I'm on the road right now but when I get a chance I'll PM you some suggestions.

I you plan to stop at Gettysburg Battlefied in Pennsylvania (State)....you try to locate a movie called "Gettysburg". It will give you some background about the battle.....which was a turning point for the United States Union Army. The ride you have planned....it will take months to see everything! You have time to plan..another thing you may want to do...is contact some "American Legions" or VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) associations along the way. Some of them may be interested in "Meeting-and Feeding" you people.....never hurts to ask! You give them enough lead time....I am sure it would help your budget! Cheers
