Vegas to Sedona in November?
Hey all. We are coming from Canada to Vegas around Veterans Day and are planning a ride from Vegas to Sedona (renting in Vegas). I'm a bit worried about the weather in Flagstaff/Sedona area. Should I stick closer to Vegas or head south into California? Are we okay in Sedona around at that time? Is snow a real possibility?
Note that we are planning for only 2 days. Enough to whet the appetite!
I appreciate your responses!

Here are my ideas of some places to go based on your time there.
l have been to Valley of Fire and it is a nice ride thru the park and close to Vegas.

l have been to Oatman and it is neat and the road in there from south of Kingman is fun.

Never been to Death Valley but this is a good time of year to go.

Hope this is of some use and good luck gambling.

I don't know if this link will work but if not go Google map; Las Vegas, NV to Sedona, AZ and make certain in options you check "avoid highways." About 340 miles one way so maybe overly ambitious but it is one of my favorite local rides. I have a jump start though as we live just north of Kingman off Route 66.

Sedona weather should not be the problem. Flagstaff is much higher elevation so much cooler in November than many other areas. The dramatic elevation changes is what really threw me off (and I love it!) when we moved out here 4 years ago.
Whatever you pick you will love it and talk about more bike time "next trip."

You may want to search the forum regarding the bike thefts in Vegas, including the valet in certain casinos that recommend a "safe spot" to park your bike only to find your bags, tour pak, etc. have been stolen overnight and the "security cameras" were not pointing in the location you were advised to park. I am not trying to put a damper on your trip, I just recently read a few threads here and thought anyone parking their bike overnight in Vegas should be aware. It seems to be a hot spot for bike/ hard bag, tour-pak theft.
Don't miss AZ riding if you can swing it. Great riding out here. Ride Safe!

Update for those who care. Valley of Fire was awesome! Excellent ride and incredible views. We also liked the Hoover Dam - pretty neat. I would do the Valley of Fire again.
Day 2 had a wind advisory - WOW! We thought we were going to be blown off the Tillman Memorial bridge. Respect to you guys and gals riding in that wind all the time.
We are looking forward to more rides in Nevada, Utah & Arizona!!
