Default Custom swingarm for wider tire

I've grown fond of the custom chopper's fat rear tire. Is there a custom swing-arm for an 883 to accommodate a wider rear tire?

Yes, just look for 'wide tire kits'! We also have some interesting threads, including one on installing a 180 in a stock swingarm. Just use Search for '180' and you should find it.

Wow. Those kits are a bit pricey! And quite frankly, those custom swing arms just look like box iron all welded together and look like crap. I'll keep searching...and saving my pennies.

Thanks!

i think u can do 180 with stock swing arm but not sure .. and i think they have a few other options --- complete kit , or just the rear parts .. depends on the stages u want to do .. good luck ..

Thanks! I read through every post in that thread. Good info.

The Superlow does indeed have a 17x4.5" rim. After taking a good long look at all the spacing around the tire, it sure doesn't look as though there's much room for a wider that's too much wider.

Someone mentioned the need for a possible belt pulley and sprocket spacer. I think 1/8" or 1/4" might be all I need to fit a 170 or 180 on the back. Where do you find those spacers?

You can find those spacers on Ebay, which is where I have bought mine. What a spacer does is to move the pulley away from the wheel and towards the swingarm. So the maximum width of spacer you can use is less than the gap you currently have between the two, otherwise the wheel won't go back in!

You would need to add a spacer for both sprockets right? Do they come in matched pairs or sets?

Something like this??
