I think you mentioned in the beginning post that you intended to use PM switch housings.... did you ever look into that anymore? I haven't seen them on a sportster yet.

I actually did buy them but never installed so I returned them. I thought they were too modern looking for the overall theme of the bike. They were great looking hand controls but again I felt the OEM stuff fit the style of the bike better.

Very sorry for the extremely late reply. I haven't been on here in a very long time. I imagine it is way too late but to answer your question. It is a steering dampener to stop potential high speed bar wiggle. It works great. Unfortunately I cant remember the brand of it.
