Can you give a real world example of volume...ie how much stuff can you cram in em

 

Not to take over Rog's question, but I took a road trip this summer and crammed the bags pretty full.

I had a liter bottle of gas, two water bottles, box of granola bars, phone charger and some tools in one bag. I had my rain suit, two rolled shirts, more tools and 2Dcell flashlight in the other. I could probably have squeezed some more small stuff into each bag as I did not need to loosen the straps to close them off.

I can also say I went through hours of down pours and all of my stuff stayed dry.

 

I havent crammed as much stuff as Mad did but that sounds about right. A guy could get enough in there for an overnight motel stay.........a girl could not They do resist water a bit. I also have the tool pouch on front where I keep my smokes and cell. Went through a 10 minute downpour and my stuff was still dry.

He stuff is off the charts expensive.....but they're pretty damn good.

 

I have the tool pouch also. It was the first thing I put on my bike when Pete started selling is his stuff on ebay. It was good for a couple years, but started to deform a bit from the wind pressure. I rode the last few seasons with it off .. I put it back on for this trip and it was completely full of water and everything in it soaked after my trek through the down pour I mentioned above. The saddlebags are awesome. I fully recommend them. I kicked myself when I missed his initial selling. They were going for 250 .... then got hot as hell and the principal of supply and demand took over. I couldn't justify the 400+ pricetag, so I put feelers out til someone responded...they were selling the bike and willing to sell me the bags at 250. The bags on my bike are five years old. I have had them on for three years and they still look new.

 

Mine was deformed also, especially after this camping trip with the girlfriend. The downpour happend the day after we set up camp and were out riding. To be safe I now keep a sandwhich baggy in the tool pouch
