Default "72" front tire question

Has anyone put a 90/90-21 on front of their "72"? Stock is a MH90-21, so the 90/90 isn't that much bigger. I saw Shinko makes a wide whitewall 90/90-21 and made me think as I saw folks mentioned fitting the Shinko 170/70-16 on the back of their XL with no mods.

I think you will find that an MH90 is a 90/90, it's just a different classification for the same tyre, just as an MT90 is equivalent to a 130/90 (popular Harley tyre going back into the mists of time!). There are others!

I've always been told the MH90 is equivalant to a 80/90. So I know it's only a 10mm variance so, but figured I'd see if anyone has done this already.

Actually an mh90/21 is an 80/90/21 thus it is narrower than a 90/90/21.

Precisely! So just wondering if anyone has put the wider 90/90 on their bike yet?

My friend put a 90/90 front tire on his 2005 XL 1200C without any issues. I compared it with my bike (when I was running the narrow glide front end) with MH90/90, side by side and the difference is minute but visible.

I just put Shinko 777 wide white walls on my 72 last week. I went with the 150/80 16" rear & the 90/90 21" on front. they handle 100 x better than the stock Dunlops & fit perfectly & look great IMO they are the best tires I've ridden in over 48 yrs of riding & will buy them again when they wear out. Here's a link to my You Tube channel showing how they look
