Default Need some opinions...

OK guys and gals, new to the forum. I have been following the forum off and on for years now so I figured it was about time to pony up and join. I just wanted some input from some other Harley people. I ride a 2005 Lowrider with a build 1550 kit that makes awesome power. However, I came across my first bike which was a 2001 XL883C that I rebuilt with Buell Thunderstorm Heads and built pretty mean too. This was my first Harley so I was pretty excited that it was still in one piece and very much like I had sold it. I bought this bike back in 2002 and rebuilt it in 2003 to a 1200 and then sold it to make the Lowrider bad. Back in the day it dyno'd 89HP and 77ft/lbs which I thought was pretty respectable. Especially since I built it in the garage over a weekend with the parts I had saved money to build over the first year I owned it. Needless to say I picked it up cheap enough I was thinking about doing a pretty radical street build on it possibly before the summer. What are any thoughts about the 1250 kits? Good? Bad? Anyone have anything to say about them in general?

I saved money to build the bike I wanted when I bought it originally so it has a quality build on it right now and I want to build another quality build too. I was really wanting to keep and use the Thunderstorm heads since those seem to still be a good item for making power. I really want to have a 100HP Sportster and from the sites I have looked at and whatnot, I don't see why I can't build one. Or on another note, what would be a good cam for a build with a 1250 kit? Open to any suggestions at this point. Just getting started!!! Thanks and Merry Christmas

Hammer Performance.

They have everything you need to know on their website.

Plus visit the XLForums, its a sportster forum.

It's full of builds and info.

Depending on the year. NRHS or Hammer. +1 on Both Companies

Those were the two companies I was looking at. I have a 2001 and I was leaning toward Hammer. Is one company better than the other on certain model years or anything?
