Maybe that's the way to go to get it right, I would find it hard to go back to pegs now.
Thanks...haven't sold them yet so perhaps I will pick up forwards and try them.

Yes, all those problems (i.e. can't reach the kickstand, brake lever height) would go away with forwards...I have short legs so perhaps I need reduced-reach forwards.....

......or maybe even a further foward mids may help my situation. Thanks

super easy swap, just removed fuel pump from 2.1 gal tank and installed it in 4.5 gallon tank, then bolted the 4.5 gallon tank on the bike, done.
If you have ignition key relocated above the coil on the side of the bike you will need a tank lift to clear the fuel line.
I did not like the tank lift so I moved my ignition to flex-six position, behind rear cylinder.

No calibration required....it will detect correct fuel level i.e. the low fuel light comes on at the appropriate time?

Correct, the low fuel light comes on when there is 1gal left out of 4.5.
I believe the fuel pump assembly to be the same across all 3 tank sizes.

I got the tank on fleabay for $150, it is from a 2015 1200C that met the ground, the tank only had 2 dents on the opposite side of the fuel pump opening making it really easy to pop.
I did not like the small tank on the 2016 48 when I bought it but really liked the stance of the bike and the beefy 49mm front fork + new mag wheels and newer shocks and the fact that it is a 1200.
I loved my 2014 Iron 883 but the 1200 is way better for me.

that is exactly why my friend is stuck on the 48 except for the 2.1 tank. Thanks for the info

Del Boy shows what needs to be done swapping an Iron tank for a 48.
Same for the 4.5g tank

Well could not raise my pedal enough to use full floorboards. HD doesn't make further forward mids for my year. Tried dyna mids which is further forward. Tried OEM forward brake lever. Nothing working so full floorboards will be going on CL.

What I did was shift my highway pegs which has heal supports to my riding pegs and my riding pegs to the highway pegs....check out the set up...at least can rest the whole foot.
