Lightbulb Magnetic Tank Bags

Hey everyone, so I just got a nightster and I was thinking about putting a rack on with the solo seat or just doing a magnetic tank bag. Does anyone have any experience with using a magnetic tank bag on the rear fender so its out of the way? any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

For storage on my Nightster I went with the detachable sissy bar. More storage possibilities IMO and its also nice to have as a back rest for the occasional passenger.

I used Daytona Gear's magnetic tank bags for 3 years when I had my Nightster.
Thought about putting on the rear fender but was always worried about it coming off without my noticing. I never once had a problem with it coming off the tank.

If you want more storage check out Licks Cycles solo bag for the Sportster.
Very well made and looks great on the Nightster.
I was able to put my rainsuit and a couple small items in it.

I was thinking the same thing dozer. Did you come up with any ideas other than the left side bag that one mentioned above?

Magnetic tank bags often come with a strap to hold them onto the steering head, in other words they can't be trusted to stay put. So if putting one on your fender work out a way of keeping it there - magnets ain't perfect! You can't see it if it decides to go walk about at 80mph.....

Is the bag going to be left on the bike or only as needed?

I have the HD solo bag that works perfect. Can hold a rain suit and other odd and ends.

I also have a roll bag that I strap above the headlight if I'm going on a multi-day trip.
