So today i picked up an 08 883 that has sat in a guys garage for 2 years never started. Im sure the battery is junk but i was hoping just to get it to start after i flushed the tank and mixed the new gas with seafoam. It will click really fast and sometimes it will turn over but not start. Lights are bright and seem to have enough juice to start it with the battery charger but it just cranks or clicks. Can i give it a shot of ether or no? Where should i go, cant pick up the battery until tommorow, like to atleast get it running tonight.

 

Also if you crank it too long all the lights and everything go out and you have to wait a minute before you try to turn the key on again

Get a new battery before you keep messing with it. If the battery is toast, even if you get it started it wont run very long. Depending on what charger you are using, you may just cause damage to the electronics.

 

Thats what im gonna do, it was just clicking , pulled the plugs and no spark but the motor will turn over fine as long as the plugs are out.
