I'm an idiot...what ViED setting am I running?
Installed them last week along with the DK 587 Outlaw A/C. I was a little confused after looking at the diagram on the printed instructions that came with the ViEDs.
I'm thinking that I have them set between 50% and 75% but I'm not sure. The bike is running noticeably cooler and is smoother at higher speeds compared to before the install. But, I'm still getting decel popping...I was thinking the ViEDs would help with that but maybe not. Here's a pic of the diagram on the instructions... http://i62.tinypic.com/2i8j2iu.jpg Here are a couple pics of the rear ViED...I have the front at the same setting. http://i62.tinypic.com/fn9yds.jpg http://i58.tinypic.com/vnjhnp.jpg Thanks. |
Well the diagram and what you have are different. But based on the diagram it looks like you are at 70%. To find out for sure turn it all the way to the right until it won't turn anymore. That will be 100%. You can then back it off to the desired position or just confirm that you were in the right place to begin with. Each tick mark is 10%, guessing that is correct since there are 10 of them not counting zero. So once you are at 100% count the clicks back 10% at a time until you are at your desired setting.

They come set on 50 I believe but looks like you are on 70%

You take great pics. The ViEDs adjustment dial was too small for me to see when I was adjusting so I turned the dial to 0 then the other way to 100 and marked the dial. After I changed my aftermarket slip on I had increased decel popping at 75% so had to play around with it and went through the entire range. I ended up at about 40% with the least popping. I subsequently bought the PV with autotune from DK Customs.

Thanks, fellas...I figured I was at about 65-70%, but wanted to get some feedback from folks who are more knowledgeable. I just moved them to 75% to see how the bike runs.

Just put them to max and start moving them down until you start hearing decal popping. Then you'll know youre in the perfect spot!

Thanks again everyone. I'm confused though...wouldn't setting them at anything LESS than 50% make the bike run leaner and therefore result in more decel popping??
They were set at 50% when I got them. I haven't even tried any setting less than 50% yet. |
