Default Tips on riding with ape hangers?

Just had 14" apes installed and was wondering what tips anyone had on cruising with them. Here's a pic

Drags to Apes? Pretty drastic change.

Don't knock it till you try it, I might have jumped into it before I knew about the quarks, but I think it is better riding for me back.. and damn it looks bad *** too. I had to ask for help on this project, I'm not good with ele/cable extension. Took a bath in labor cost having someone else do it for me. What have you guys paid for raising your handlebars??

I went straight from drags to 10" apes and loved em only looked too wide at the bottom imo so changed them for 12" narrow apes and internal wired them and luv the look. Can't really give any tips but would say at first I was like whoa! But after a few rides everything feels fine and you get used to the buffeting at speeds. Enjoy em 👍🏻

Tips? Practice practice practice. If after a while you still can't get used to them they might be too tall. Might consider getting smaller apes if that's the case. I went from drag bars to mini apes. And now I'm considering the next size up.

I'm needing the same tips. Coming from R6 I just don't feel like I'm in control of the bike as much as my sport bike. Especially going over bumps and all these road constructions... Doesn't help my Burley shocks have NO give.. One bump nearly knocked my helmet off

I have 14" bars and 3" risers. I feel in control on the super slab and in corners. After getting used to them I would never go back.

Tips? Yeah, get rid of 'em. LOL!!

Why anyone would want less control of their motorcycle puzzles me, but if looking cool is more important, than just force yourself to get used to them and enjoy!!

Yeah I hate everything, so please don't mind me

I have 8" mini apes that are perfect height meaning my arms/shoulders are relaxed while riding unlike those tall apes. Ever work on a job where your hands are above your shoulders for any length of time? Eventually it gets painful until you rest your arms. For cruising apes are ok but if you think your bike handles the same in that hand position your sadly mistaken. It's horrible for corner carving where you want your weight forward on the bars. Also you become like a parachute catching air in that riding position at highway speeds. They do look cool none the less.
