Length of XR1200 pushrod tubes?
Hi,
can anyone give me the length and/or OD of XR1200 pushrod tubes?
Trying to see if I can make them work on a big twin, if they will hold the o-rings in place.
Some say the cylinders lengthen/expand as the engines get hot, anything up to 50 thou -- which I have no way to confirm. The old 3 part tubes are sprung which I suppose, in theory, means they could adopt to any expansion. I wonder why it's not a problem for these fixed length ones? Do the XR o-rings take up the difference?
I appreciate the stroke length on these bikes is different, 3.8125" versus 4.250". I have no idea whether the actual pushrod cover/cylinder length/height of the heads are. I've discovered so much of the internals of the rocker boxes are the same it surprised me.
Thanks.
