Default Ground down nub on RH brake caliper boss per Ness instructions:

Ness big brake needs the older caliper boss nub ground off to avoid rotor contact.

dremel tool ripped it right off.

Wink

back up on lift... to fix the lines and got fed up with the mismatched sliders... sanded and polished the RH slider to mirror finish like the LH slider.

adjusted lines. corrected master cylinder to tee line. transposed the left and right front brake lines.

***see that shine?! those sliders are NOT chrome... that is stock+elbow grease! hot damn!*****

brakes done!

feels good!

but...

Default Grenades appeared

off with the beastly eagles

blah

done. 10x easier than anything i've ever done to my sporty.

they are NASTY! they are LOUD. ignorant loud. i love them. no question. even considering them for my other bike.

i posted vids below with sound. there are very few vids with sound out there... the vids don't do the sound justice. rumbling like thunder, bass, and raspy. insane

i was going to do chrome heat shields, called vance and hines 4 times and they just couldn't find a price for the shields and never returned my calls... sad but, true had to email corporate, $169 for rear and $192... 360+? that's almost half the price of the pipes. nope

  • (-)been a pain in the *** to tune. power vision reads 99 in tps[1][1000] and tps[1][1500] on every run, even if the bike is just idling.
  • (-) shakes my rear brake pedal and it taps my foot varies based on year as the rear master cylinder moved on newer bikes
  • (-) pipes sit out higher and farther from bike
  • (-) blocks passenger pegs... no issue for me, have none and never will
  • (-/+)low end torque has rolled out {gone}, bike now likes to be in higher revs, and is twitchy in lower revs.
  • (+)but, the loud pipes save lives is hella true with these things. cars way ahead are reacting to the sound (not merging or aborting merge)
  • (+) looks great, shows off freshly powdered and polished rear pully/sprocket and chrome guards

v&h grenades:

first run/fire up... bad... untuned, smoke is anti-seize on the o2 plugs and first run pipe goodness (normal):

after PV 3 runs

grenades vs seII:

Default License Plate Relocation

scope creep went from a second rotor to new pipes, alarm, rear brakes, yeti campus stories, clutch cables, sand paper, polish, and now a plate relocation.

used:
hd relo kit- 60972-10
http://www.adventureharley.com/harle...e-kit-60972-10

ugly hole cover.. had to go

get that s*** outta here

used auto interior trim plugs from the auto parts store (o'reillys @ $2.29) to fill the holes until i find a better solution that isn't tacky like most of the skull/cliche/triangle crap out there.

done. will have to swap out the tail light for a non-windowed unit since the plate is no longer there. scope keeps creeping

Problems:
because the relo kit added more distance between the inside of the fender and the LH side, i had get longer bolts from ace hardware to continue using my quick detach hardware.
since i replaced the left side, replaced the right. painted the caps with nail pol... the vivid black touch up kit from my wide glide. huh? http://www.harley-davidson.com/app-c...ts/-J04703.PDF

before

after
