The battery is a YUASA and has been on my 2011 48 for about 18 months and was purchased new. I always had problem keeping the Neg terminal tight till finally it broke.

Now, what's a good battery to order? I see a bunch of them on amazon, anyone has experience with any? I was not happy with the terminal setup on The Yuasa.

 

Antigravity 16cell 480CA - it's small, light, and plenty of cranking power. Holds charge without the need to charge for 1 year unless your have parasitic draws. I have draws and have not yet had the need to charge since I bought it....cranks right up. The other battery in the pic was still good but there was a hesitation when cranking. I now use the old battery to provide power to my portable HD air compressor.

i have a Lithium shorai battery similar to the antigravity. but its is less expensive. they are about 2lbs and the same size as your stock battery. i use one in my 2013 48. this model fits all sportster 04 to 2016

Got it from Amazon, It's TINY and super light weight. 130$ Came with tender, and prime eligible. Comes with foam blue CM's to fill the space. I was able to move my micro efi controller to batt compartment.

 

Thanks guys. I couldnt wait so just went to the dealr and got a HD battery for $125.

 

My neg terminal broke last fall, sorry but its good to hear i wasnt the only out there.
