Default Kickstand spring and hardware

My '07 Sportster was converted to a hard tail when I bought it and the bike sits extremely low with the rear fender almost rubbing the rear tire. I believe that it still has the original kickstand because the bike stands almost straight up and down because it sits so low. I found a kickstand that is 1 inch shorter than factory that may solve my problem and allow the bike to lean like it should when parked, but it doesn't come with the spring or any hardware. Just wondering if the spring and hardware from my original kickstand will work with the new shorter one? Thanks

If they are both stock Harley ones then yes. The mounting hardware goes back to the 1980s!

when i used to ride crotch rockets, id take my bikes to a muffler shop, they cut off whatever i needed and rewelded the stand, dint even have to take it off the bike

Yes as long as the kickstand is made to fit your bike. I have a 1" under and used the HD spring.
