08 Nightster back fender fitment, help a newbie out 😉
Hello there!
I'm looking for some advice on what can be done with a bent rear fender. Is it worth repairing it? Or would it be a better idea to get a new one?
I'm just a wife of a Harley owner, looking to do something nice for her husband. The original 08 nightster fender got bent by some nit wit who rear ended my poor husband, and about an inch of it is bent in at ~ 90° angle with the paint peeling.
Some pointers from you kind people on where to look for either repairs, or new fender would be greatly appreciated. If you suggest buying a new one, how would I go about making sure it's the right size?
Thanks y'all in advance!

Maybe an E-bay search might be the quickest way to get another fender.
Make sure to insist there is no paint damage.
PS This forum also has a parts for sale section.
Be aware early year Nightsters had a fender with a square hole to fit the computer module. Newer ones did not have the square hole.
Then you and hubby could swap the replacement fender for the old fender together over a 1/2 day.
Else, as above, paint peeled and fender bent, repair shop is the option. Bike out of commission for at least a week under this option.
Last option, and I think husband's choice, is to cut and shorten the fender. I think this is termed bobbing. Do a search.
Good luck.
