Default Sportster 1200 Custom wheel swap - easier way

For those of you that have switched to a 16" front tire from the stock 19" on a later model sporty, which method did you use? I was kinda thinking picking up a complete front end seems to be easiest and fastest. All you do is drop the bars and tree clamps and swap, no? Would using an evo softail heritage or fatboy front end work, or even a road king front? Thanks.

sporty has 39mm narrow glide
bikes you mention have totally different front ends 41mm, 52mm
You'll need different tripple trees. Also, those bikes heavy, so they have heavier springs that would not work for sporty.
What's the problem to take one wheel off and put another one? 1h max

I'm just trying to figure out how to get a 16" wheel on a 1200 custom. I see plenty of sportsters for sale but they always have the spoke wheels and I'd want to put the mag wheels on, and get the wider 16" tires that come with something like the 48. Is it as simple as just swapping the wheel and maybe get a fender from a 48? Just trying to understand what's the easiest/quickest/cheapest route. Thanks.

48 might be an option, not sure if trees are the same. You can go to dealer and do some measurements.

as mentioned above... you would have to switch the fork and trees out. those wheels are wider and heavier so you have to spend some $$$. will end up looking good in the end though
