2016 48 Further Forward Mid Controls Questions
Hey folks, I've been doing a bit of research into mid controls for my 48. I'm not a big fan of the forward controls. It just feels kinda awkward to me. Personal preference, no biggie if you differ in opinion. :-)
I was thinking of putting mid controls on my bike, but then I saw these further forward mid controls on the Harley site. I think these might be the best of both worlds: further forward than mids and not too forward. My questions are...
1. Has anyone installed these on a '14+ 48 and were there any issues?
2. How did you like them vs mid and forward controls?
Thanks for any input.

Just get 2014-2016 mid controls... I got a complete set off craigslist for 100.00 bucks. They are easy to install if they come off the 14-16 sportster models. You can save about $250 and spend it on something else for your bike. It's took me about 20 min to install them.
Brake side..just unhook pin from brake bar link and unbolt right side mount. Then pull the caps that cover the mid bolt holes. Mount bar link into brake cylinder and bolt mid control up.
Shifter side..remove shifter link from both sides unbolt the mount from frame. Remove caps in mid control bolt holes. Remove shifter link from shift peg. Mount shifter and then bolt mid control bracket up.
Reinstall your foot pegs and bolt shifter peg to shifter and recheck your bolts. I didn't have to remove any exhaust components at all.

Don't have further forward mids nor do I have a 48, but do have mids which provides control and comfort. As an option, you can also install adjustable hwy peg mounts where the forwards go to stretch out on longer rides. I am vertically challenged so the adjustable mounts allowed me to move the hwy pegs closer. Here's a couple of pics.
