'08, XL1200C. Rode to a little rally about 70 miles away. As I pull in the my campsite, the oil light comes on. I also noticed a "tinny" sound coming from the left side of the engine. I turned it off and checked the oil, full, no problem.

The next morning, turned the ignition on, oil light came on again, until I started it. Oil light went off, and engine sounded like normal.

If I ride more than an hour, I usually hear the "tinny" sound.

WTH???

 

I'd change the oil & filter right away, filter could be plugged or collapsed inside.
