2008 (25 mm) wheels on 1989 sportster (3/4") axle
I purchased a front and rear 16" wheel for my 1989 sportster with wide glide front end. The wheel has stock bearing HD9276A. The bearing measurements are as follows:
Outer diameter: 2.047
Inner diameter: 25 mm
Outer Race diameter: .0589
I am thinking about purchasing this bearing:

What do you guys think?

Any suggestions? Should I use the 25 mm to 3/4" adapter? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Harley-Wheel-Bearing-Reducers-25mm-to-3-4-Axle-Adapters-Spacer-Sportster-FXST-/262354613980?hash=item3d158db6dc:g:RLgAAOSwGYVW9uxi&vxp=mtr OR Replace the bearing with this: http://www.bossbearing.com/Wheel-Bearing-and-Seal-Kit-p/hd-12-4.htm Hoping someone has tried this out and can give me a suggestion.

The Boss Bearing option uses standard 2000-2007 deep groove seal ball bearing with ,52mm OD x 21mm width x 3/4" bore specs.
If the 2008 wheel hub is made for a standard 52mm OD x 25mm bore x 15mm width seal ball bearing, chances are the 21mm deep groove bearing will not fit into bearing recess hole,
because it is too shallow.
Would go the sleeve route to make the recess bearing hole 1.78", pre 2000 specs and install the retrofit standard groove seal ball bearing by V-Manufacturing.
This bearing can be found on JP Cycles site, under 1999 sportier , wheel bearing...it is the last one listed that has the red colored rubber seal covers, JP part # 200-842
This bearing is 1.78" OD x 3/4" bore and has a smaller width to fit in the bearing hole without projecting past the hub lip.
The bearing is actual made to retrofit the pre 2000 Timkin style tapered roller bearings.

There are other things to be aware of. The OD of the bearing housings on your 2008 wheels, onto which the brake rotors and pulley fit, are larger in diameter than your '89 wheels, so your current rotors and pulley will not bolt on. To continue to use your current brake calipers you may have to shop around to get suitable rotors. You could machine the central hole of your pulley, as it is alloy, or replace with a later one.
I have installed recent wheels on my 1990 Glide, but the work was quite involved and no bolt-in!

The Bossbearing are actually 3/4" ID x 52mm OD x 15 mm outer race width. I believe that they should fit. As far as the brake rotors, I planned on replacing the original 25 mm ID wheels with the rotors from my 89 sportster cast wheels.
My real concern is that the Bossbearing are made from China and the wheel bearing adapter is not a bearing.
I could use the wider bearings as you mentioned and cut my outer wheel spacers.
