Biltwell Sporty-8 on Iron?
I'm planning on swapping the stock seat on my 2015 XL883N for a Biltwell Sporty-8. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who's already done this. Pros? Cons?

That's what I'm thinking too. Thanks for the pic!

I really like the minimalist look of the Sporty 8 seat. It's so easy to swap seats on a Sportster. Use the Sporty 8 around town, something else for distance riding.

I like that minimalist thing too. And you're right - swapping the seats would be a simple solution.

id look around ebay and here for a la peral bare bones or any number of seats that use a metal pan. I had a built well HB seat, They have a plastic seat pan which may or may not be the best it was a good seat. but for a little extra, a metal pan and better foam/gel can go a long way. and they are a sponge in the rain.

A bare bones (with biker gel) was my first choice. But they're hard to get here in Canada, as Le Pera won't ship here directly. So eBay, I guess, is my only option. But I hear you about the metal pan, etc.

Alan didnt realize you were in CAN. that could be a problem. i have the Cherokee seat and wanted to add gel in it. its about 175 to get the gel put into my seat. but i can drive to Le pera and drop it off. |
I wanted a Le Pera but like you they are difficult to find in the UK,so I went for sporty 8.
no regrets I love it,it was a little hard at first but it seems a lot better now or perhaps ive just got used to it. Another big plus it looks the dogs dodahs. |
It's good to have that positive feedback. Thanks!
