Default Can I run dual fire cool with single fire ignition?

I'm restoring a 1982 xlh 1000 that didn't have the ignition module so I decided to order the compufire single fire ignition. I still have the stock ignition coil on the bike, are they compatible? Should I cancel my order and get the dual fire instead? Any info helps!

As far as I'm aware you can't run the dual fire coil with the single fire ignition.
A single fire coil is likely to have a 12 volt supply wire and a trigger wire for both the front and rear cylinder, so esentially three imputs.
Where as the dual fire will have only 2 imputs. A 12 volt supply and a trigger wire supply from the ignition unit.
Depending on the level of restoration you are doing I think keeping things as standard as possible is best.

No. You need to match the coil to the ignition type.
