Took a ride today with the wide tripper and I have to say the wide vintage solo, although more comfortable than the tripper, raises you about 2" and pushes you forward.

Rode home today from the dealership with no stop and go traffic but still felt heat through the wide tripper solo so back on goes the wide vintage solo.

I had a guy tell me that using a backrest is risky if you get hit from the rear. He told me that the guy broke is back. Anyone heard of someone getting injured with a backrest? Idk just got me thinking....

Ten years ago, I was on my wife’s bike stopped at a redlight. A car was stopped behind me. A car struck the car behind me at 40 mph, the car hit me.. my wife’s bike had a Corbin backrest on it. I was bent over the back of the backrest and mt helmet hit the hood of the car behind me. I ended up ten feet in front of the car that hit me. I lost consciousness for a minute but I was ok. Taken to hospital and found ok. Was a little sore and I scuffed up my favorite leather jacket but I was fine. Thank god I was wearing a helmet

I ride with a backrest today and I do not give it a second thought. You can what if things to death and never enjoy yourself. Ride defensively, wear a helmet, and have fun.

Glad you came out of that one okay. Yup I always wear a helmet. I can see someone going over the backrest like you did....I plan to continue using the backrest for back support.
