Is it just me or...

Sounds about right...
Regardless of what bike you say you have, they'll always ask if you're looking to upgrade to whatever is better than what you just mentioned. I worked as a sales guy for years. The fact that you're even in that showroom means that you have some kind of inkling at buying a bike. Even if you think you don't, their job is to convince you. The hardest part is getting someone in the door. That's why dealers spend so much on marketing. You already brought yourself there.
As far as the "are you looking for something bigger"...that's pretty common, it's one of the smaller bikes that Harley makes and most people will eventually upgrade. If you're standing in the showroom looking at bikes, it's a pretty standard thing. If you said you've got a Street Glide, they would most likely say something like..."do you do a lot of touring? How about something bigger like an Ultra? Oh you have an Ultra already? Right on...have you seen our CVO model, it'll knock your socks off!"
It's just sales man.

I had the same thing happen at a ride event this past weekend. Leader of the American Legion who's a good friend walked up and asked if I was ready to upgrade from my Sportster... I told him it was fast, loud and as deep as I was going into the Harley line.
I love my Sportster and it's a eye catcher too. All the bigger bikes pretty much look the same to me.

My dad does this to me all the time. He loves sportsters, so he says, but he's always trying to get me to go bigger, I just got my bike in April! He owns a heritage, which is the farthest thing from my style, a softail slim s with a 117, and a 46 knucklehead. While the softail is kinda cool, the only bike in his shed that I would get rid of the sporty for is the 46. There's just something about a fun small bike you can throw around and have fun on!

Too true.
In addition to here, I like to read the posts on the Milwaukee 8 forum as well. Like us, they too post pics of their [touring] bikes and everyone goes oooh oooh aahhh aahhh nice wonderful awesome gorgeous drool etc...
Yet all _I_ see is the same big fat bike but in different colors
