Default wider rear tire

I have owned my iron for a couple months now and when my brother pulled up in his bike I noticed how skinny my rear tire is. I think I remember reading somewhere that the sportsters dont ride well with a wide tire, is this true?

yup it did.....thats a pic just after i chopped the rear fender...took about 8 inches off of it. i converted the blinkers to blink, running and brake lights plus the plate frame on the swingarm has a running light and is a brake light. to me this is how the bike should have looked but everyone has their own look that they like. i also spent like 6 hours grinding and smoothing the swingarm because whoever made it....whatever company made it just didnt care about the final look...welds were kinda gross and way too sloppy and it had some small dents and imperfections that i was able to get rid of. did all of that and powdercoated it black again and it matches the frame perfectly. it is more visible with the exhaust i put on so maybe the longer exhaust hid the imperfections more....i dunno because i bought the bike this way. all in all i would say if you order a kit make sure you take the time to clean up the swingarm welds and stuff before having it powdercoated. i am bery pleased with the results...only cost me some grinding disks because i coat simple stuff like that myself. the 200 tire rides excellent...i cant compare it to a stock bike but this is lowered also and i am very happy with the ride.

Gotta say you can't beat a fat tire for looks, but when I changed the tires on my 48 for matching MT90-16's front & rear (equivilent to 130's) I noticed that my bike definately handled a LOT better than with the stock 150 rear!
