Default 2007 Harley Davidson sportster 1200 xl custom

Hey, I just did an oil change on the bike and it has about 9,000 miles on it and there's a little bit oil leaking out the bottom drain hose and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what that might be?

Leak out of the hose?

Hose clamp not tight enough.
Hose is cracked/ ripped/ torn.
Hose plastic plug is damaged.

Let us know what you find.
If you replace the hose, write a DIY how to.

See the diagram below for your year and model. If you're looking for item 14 then it's the Oil Drain Line Sleeve, p/n 33138-06. If you're looking for item 21, then it's the Oil Drain Hose, p/n 63596-06.

HTH.

# 21 from the parts drawing above is what usually fails, breaks / cracks at the tight bend in the middle. I replaced mine some time ago, not difficult just need patients.

Most likely the MEC did not tighten the #4 item (hose clamp) tight enough, 9000K is not enough time to fatigue the rubber that much, but, if it is buy 2 as you will need it soon. Each bike has her qwirks (like wom. . . ) !

Enjoy the repair, and get use to it.
