Hey All - So me and my buddy started on my 12inch bar raise project today.

Had 6 inches stocks on my xl883l and moved them up to 12inch. Got the Burley kit, the gaskets, brake fluid and tranny fluid, and got to work.

After going through everything we ran into numerous issues, and I will be posting a few different threads as I am not sure if they are related. I would really appreciate some help here as I cannot ride my sporty until I figure these out.

The brake light and running light are stuck on. The night before the project I had been riding and lost both the taillight and the brake light completely. Replaced the bulb this morning and all seemed to be working fine, but then after moving the bike around its stuck on. If I press the switch on the front brake to disengage the loop ( taking the brake lever off and pressing the switch manually ) I loose both the brake light and taillight, but I do get a brake light when hitting the foot break.

Has this ever happened to anyone? And if so how did you go about fixing that?
