Default ShortShots w. baffles VS Twin Slash 3" slip-ons

Title says it all really. Im in the market to upgrade my stock exhaust but im torn between these two choices. I am aware that they are 2 different things but the price difference is not big and i wont be spending anything else in the short run (remap, a/c etc)

How do these 2 compare in terms of sound?

I know, ShortShots are loud AF but how much quieter are the Twin Slash slip ons?

ShortShots VS Twin Slash slip ons
and
ShortShots w. quiet baffles VS Twin Slash slip ons

Also, which of the two produce the deepest tone?

Thanks a lot folks

Given your choices, I lean towards the twin slash.

I like my short shots I've added quiet baffles to please next door but the difference is minimal still loud but deeper.

Mine came fitted and without originals.

I had slip ons on my previous fatboy good thing is you have the versatility and ability to change back or play with other slipons as you want with ease

I have Twin Slash slip-ons with the baffles removed and DK Custom Thunder Torque Inserts installed. It's loud but the TTI's give it a deeper tone and a nice Harley sound. I thought the wife would hate it but she actually likes it better than when I had the baffles installed.

Well, the Twin Slashes are out of the way...
Apparently HD fits a thinner header pipes on 2017 HDI/EU models (i own a 2017 Sportster) which is incompatible with the current offering from V&H.

This is a game changer since now i'll have to consider a full exhaust system since other exhaust manufacturers may have the same issue

Oh well... I hope other European dudes/gals find this info useful

I'm running my 2017 1200 custom with Twin Slash, standard baffle and DK Custom 158 TTIs and very happy with the Harley rumble and neighborhood friendly when leaving at 6 in the morning for work.

Are thinner head pipes really a problem? Just make a gasket to fit between the pipe and the slip on. I have seen info on this on forums for suszuki savage and intruder as well as for a Ural. Seems pretty common.

Would love to see more info about this as for performance, tone and noise reasons im inclined towards the slip ons

Thanks!

Further to this, i concluded by buying the Twin slash 3" slip ons for the normal Sportster model and a kit of muffler reducer adaptors which will hopefully allow me to fit the muffler on my header pipe. If anyone is interested i will keep this thread updated with how the fitting goes.

The EU/JAPAN version of the incompatible headpipe is: 65600182 and all 2017 Sportsters come equipped with it; not sure about other EU models
