Default 883 & 1200 Exhaust Interchangeable?

I want a set of stock pipes for my 1200 and was wondering if they would be the same as a set from a 883 Iron. They look the same and I can get a super cheap set.

As long as the year matches, I believe the parts are the same.
04-13 interchange, and '14-up are different.

Not always. 04-06 are carbed bikes without bungs for o2 sensors, 07 & up have bungs.

You can probably still get them cheap, but look for a set from a suitable bike, as Ratwerke points out.

they changed the location of the rear brake reservoir I think which is why pre 14 bikes don't match

Quite possibly, but the main change is to the way the balance pipe between front and rear pipes is attached. It used to be connected to each muffler, now to each main pipe. The two pipes plus balance pipe are a single assembly now, not separate components.

So with all this said about the 883 and 1200 on rpm's . What would be an acceptable max rpm to run at highway speed. I have an 883 and at 70-75 it sounds like it's ready to fly apart so I back off to 60 . Are the rpm's safe at those speeds?

Yes, these bikes like to rev. I have mine set to 7000 but then I've got 560 cams.
