Wiring for Adding a Tach

Wiring for Adding a Tach
I have a basic 2005 Sportster 883 that only has the factory speedo. I also got a dual speedo/tach head off Ebay from a 2004 FXDX. I'll be digging into adding the Tach soon, but just wondered about the wiring. Has anyone messed with this and know if the Tach lead is included in the base model Sportster wiring harness, or should I expect to have to run a tach wire from the ignition module?

Both links posted above seem to have been changed or deleted. I'm in a similar situation with an 06 1200C, looking to find a tach reference source. I've read multiple posts on multiple forums and tried many of the suggestions (pin 3 on speedo connector, pin 3 on ECM, either coil input from ignition control module, etc) with no luck. The tach is Biker's Choice 493374 and is the model suggested for this bike. Has anyone else added an aftermarket tach to an 06 Sportster 1200C that could provide some guidance?
edit: Upon further testing, I get an erratic signal from either coil wire going from ignition control module to coil, looks to be about half of the actual RPMs. I saw this:
that referenced a "rev adapter" installed on a HD Street 750 XD. Can anyone tell me if this is what I need?
