Thumbs up My SUPER Sporty Transformation...

Well, it's been a while since I had a Sporty and I'm excited to join the team again and do a new build. My last build was pretty extensive, but this one is SURE to top it! I just picked up a 2004 883 for $1700. Runs PERFECT, but is pretty rough around the edges. Excited to do a little nightster/iron action on it. Already ordered a 48 rear fender and need to find a tank. I didn't realize how annoying it was to find a used tank for the 04-06's. Of course Harley would make it hard on me. Anyway, the most important part... before pics... oh and for good measure I'll throw in some pics of my last build...

For reference last build - https://www.hdforums.com/forum/sport...formation.html

Before (2007 1200C)

After

Now for the new(ish) 883:

Day picked up...

Oh and for good measure my 2002 FLSTSI next to it. Sure makes that bike look good.

Dents in the tank. Paint is pretty thrashed. Metal is thrashed too along with chrome. Sat outside for the last 2 years in the snow and crap. Runs a dream though... but needs some help for sure. So, if anyone is looking to sell some parts, hit me up... I probably need them! More to come!

Finished...

Nice build on the previous 1200C. I'm sure there will be good things to come with this one as well. I've been wanting to pick up a cheap Sportster and tear it down and build it back up. This is only makin my lust for that idea grow even more

Thanks! Yeah, hard to pass up a deal like that, especially when you're just going to strip it down anyway. This should be fun!

I will say, expect a lot of what has already been seen, just on an old bike. I'm all about the resale value, so if people want Iron's, an Iron I will create. I loved my '72 "custom" but that was because they were selling like crazy around here (not the candy though). It became a '72 with a little of my own flare. The plan is to take what Harley has done with the Iron/Nightster and give it a little of my flavor. Lots of black, but I'm playing with a few different tin colors. I like to build golf carts too and I LOVED the paint scheme on the last one I built. I've attached it below...

Here's a little closer up on the paint...

Very cool matte grey metallic. I SUPER dug it on my cart and I think it'd look awesome on Sporty tins.

I like your style. Can't wait to see what you do with the 883.
